Humanity incarnates on earth, a place of darkness and light because it is symbolic of our fallen ego state of separation from the totality of complete light that we are. Who we are is the light of God. It is easy to forget this as our ego calls us to tackle busy days and illusory goals.
The planet our ego has called us to so that it can believe in its own existence, seasonally and daily falls into lapses of light and darkness. The solar eclipses emphasize our separation from the light and have a very real effect on us. Let it be but a teaching tool to help get back to the light. Recognize it is a choice we make to have awareness or to be in the dark. Being in the dark is ignorance or ignore--ance of the WHO that we are. Once we experience the truth of the LOVE that we are, there is not as much of a return to the lack that we were unaware that we held. Our watchfulness however must need to be fanned just like a flame needs tendering and care. If we lapse in our care-taking we risk the fire going out. And our symbolic internal fire within the light of God can dim. At that time we are most vulnerable to the darkness that also dwells on earth, our temporary home. That is why it is important to care for our souls and place ourselves as close to God as we can. This is called WILL. It is a conscious act.
There are many cultural festivals that celebrate light. The Hindu festival of light is occurring presently. Diwali is one of the most important holidays in the Hindu culture. The five-day new year celebration centers on festivals, gift giving and family gatherings that is similar to the Christmas tradition of sharing gifts, sugar plums and candy canes. Diwali, the festival of light began Sunday November 3, 2013 coincidentally coinciding with a complete solar eclipse that was visible on the North East coast of the United States at 6:30 AM. The lanterns and candles lighted for Diwali honor the flame of divinity within us all.
This time of year as the earths light diminishes in our northern hemisphere culminating with the winter solstice on December 21st we experience Jack o lanterns and candy given for the hallowed eve of All Saints Day. We look forward to giving thanks for a productive harvest. The Jewish Festival of lights is Channukah and similar traditions of gathering, gifts symbolizing gold light and delicious traditional foods are enjoyed. Many temples worldwide have been built to honor the return of sun light as daylight begins to lengthen after the shortest day of the year.
Obstacles to experiencing our light are thoughts that produce fear and anxiety. It is therefore important to identify what is causing us to loose our peace. The light of Holy Spirit can penetrate only when there are no barriers and our will is set to receive this. Set an intention every day as soon as possible after awakening. If necessary journal your fear and overwhelming emotions to release the toxins that have gathered in the physical body.
Peace is our birthright and harboring judgements will get in the way of light. We want to clear the darknesses so the light can penetrate fully into our minds to illuminate our truth. Release your judgements and become free. Judge others and you can not avoid judging yourself and that weakens the opening to receive light. Always think about the light and place yourself in it continually. See it feel it and experience your love which is Absolute.
Peace and Namaste
